02 / CHARACTER

Distinctive lettering, a custom toolbar icon set, and an exploration-inspired identity bring the spirit of classic browsers into a modern project. Explore the icons.

03 / OWNERSHIP

Independent by design.

Created by one developer with a clear vision. Wayfarer is part of Hamelton Software’s independently developed software lineup.

THE STORY BEHIND WAYFARER

Built by a person.
With a point of view.

James Hamelton Jr.SOLE DEVELOPER · HAMELTON SOFTWARE

The web has changed. The feeling of discovery doesn’t have to.

Wayfarer takes inspiration from the personality of classic Netscape Navigator while building on modern Chromium foundations. It is an independent browser for Windows, with its own name, identity, and direction.

James Hamelton Jr. is the sole developer of Wayfarer and all software distributed by Hamelton Software.

A DIRECTION OF ITS OWN

Where Wayfarer could go next.

Browsing Trails. Expedition Collections. Navigator Mode. Explore the proposed ideas that could shape upcoming versions.

Browsing Trails

Follow the path of a browsing session as a connected trail rather than a flat history list. Revisit a starting point, branch into a new direction, and keep useful routes together.

Expedition Collections

Collect related tabs, saved links, and short notes into a named expedition. Close the clutter and return to the research when you need it.

Navigator Mode

Choose a classic-inspired toolbar with colored navigation icons and familiar visual cues, alongside a quieter modern layout. Keep the personality without giving up clarity.
